My Summer Job: Sketching at Lovric's Marina

On the first day I sat on the dock and sketched this great tug; then, when I stood up, I saw an even better view!

My cousin Bruce, who also paints, came to Lovric's with me.  Alice was his Aunt and my Grandmother so I couldn't resist painting the Alice in honor of the family visit.

At the beginning of the summer I painted some obvious subjects

Toward the middle of the summer I explored some of the more hidden docks

Every week brought new projects under way

Besides boats there were terrific trucks and old machinery

Some of the regular workers started to recognize me so I painted them too

I saved the party barge for last and for fun put Mt. Baker behind it.
